New UIC Team Member

Greetings Community Partners and welcome to September!

We'd like to introduce you to the newest member of our team. Meet Hannah!

Hannah has just moved to Campbell River and will be with us for the next 9 months for her Master's Internship. Here's a little more about Hannah!

Hello, I'm Hannah Houle and I am very excited to be joining the Upper Island Counselling team for my practicum. I am a graduate student working towards my Master's in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University, prior to this I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Victoria in 2020. Throughout my education I have also had first-hand experience working in mental health support work, harm reduction, suicide education and awareness, and specialized employment services for people with disabilities. My goal is to create a safe, warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental space for clients to share their experiences, develop tools and strategies to support well-being, and normalize the human experience. My interest in psychology, mental health, and well-being began at a young age, and I have always been a helper, so it is quite surreal and exciting that I have reached the stage in my education where I get to put my skills and knowledge into practice. I am relatively new to Campbell River as I moved here with my fiancé in June 2023, and I am looking forward to setting down some roots here and growing my career in the counselling profession.
