Cheryl Close, MA, CCC
Counsellor
Cheryl joined our team in 2019. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and is a Certified Canadian Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
Prior to starting her career in counselling, Cheryl worked with youth and adults in outdoor education. Throughout many different adventures, Cheryl focused on fostering a safe and supportive learning environment while helping participants overcome anxiety and apprehension through a wide range of activities.
With a welcoming and warm counselling style, Cheryl takes a person-centered, collaborative approach to counselling therapy to assist clients in finding strategies and solutions that meet their unique needs. Cheryl uses elements of cognitive-behavioural, mindfulness-based, and solution-focused therapy in her practice. She has experience working with individuals over the age of 14 in the areas of, but not limited to; anxiety, depression, grief, emotion-regulation, substance use, stress management and reduction, and relationship issues. With a genuine love for helping people, Cheryl has truly found her place as a professional counsellor. She is a welcome and valuable member of our team.
