We are proud to offer an inclusive and culturally sensitive environment, where all clients feel welcome.
About Us
Established in 1987 by the forestry industry, we are a community-based employee family assistance program. Our non-profit society partners with local community organizations and stakeholders, and our Board of Directors, to ensure employee and workplace wellness needs are met.
We are proud to be a part of the communities of upper Vancouver Island. Our clinical and administrative staff are all members of our community. All our counsellors are professionally trained and accredited, allowing for a high level of service, supervision, dedication and commitment to healing and wellness in our region.
Our main office is located in Campbell River. With over 70 community partners, we serve people in communities all across British Columbia, including the Okanagan Valley, the Lower Mainland, Comox Valley and many north Island communities.
What Matters Most
Community-Based
Our story began in Campbell River, BC. We continue to tailor our services to local, upper island needs by ensuring our organization is led, staffed, and governed locally.
Ease of Access
With a quick phone call or email you will have an appointment scheduled without delays or complicated steps to take. Counselling is available via face-to-face meetings, video conferencing, and phone options to suit your preference.
No Session Limits
We offer counselling without a fixed number of sessions. We focus on helping our clients achieve meaningful change by employing short-term, goal-oriented, evidence-based therapies.
Inclusive & Culturally Safe
Our counsellors ensure compassionate care of sensitive issues & concerns of marginalized populations, by working from a trauma-informed perspective and engaging in ongoing professional development.

Confidentiality is central to our services. Under normal circumstances, no one outside of UIC is given any information without your written consent. Legal limitations to confidentiality are thoroughly explained at intake.
